I remember being a young girl listening to the radio and saying to myself, “this is what I want to do”. Fast forward a few years and I’m living my dream. I love how radio breaks down barriers and supports connection between people and I’m so grateful to be part of that.
I first sat behind a mic when I was just sixteen years old where I hosted a youth show on Bush Radio on Saturday mornings. Two years later and I decided to study Journalism at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology before returning to radio, this time as a journalist.
For the last few years I’ve been on The Great Drive with such a fun group of people who I’m so grateful to call friends. The Great Drive is a fast-paced drive-time show exclusive to one of the top 3 commercial radio stations in the Province. We connect with almost 750 thousand listeners through engaging, edgy and relevant content between 3 and 6pm every week-day.
I think one of the greatest gifts we have in life is the ability to learn from each other. Connecting with hundreds of thousands of people during the show every day provides me with such a great opportunity to learn from different perspectives. My hope is that sharing who I am as authentically as I can encourages others to do the same.
